Riffat Maqbool Qadir, PE

Riffat Maqbool “Mac” Qadir, Principal of Enpro Solutions, has 30 years of consulting and industrial experience and has managed over a 100 environmental projects for Fortune 500 clients, municipal clients and the Department of Defense.

He is a Professional Engineer in the state of California, and is also licensed in CA as a General Engineering Contractor with Hazardous Substance Certification. His papers and articles have been published in industry and technical journals such as Environmental Protection; and U.S. Department of Energy technical publications. Mac’s extensive training includes completion of OSHA and EPA 40-hour Training with an annual refresher, plus their 8-hour Supervisory Training; California Accidental Release Prevention (CalARP) courses; and ASTM’s Risk-Based Corrective Action (RBCA) course work.

Mac was influenced at an early age by Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring, and believes that environmental protection and sustainable development must be integrated into every economic enterprise to ensure that earth’s resources are used wisely. He credits his parents - his mom was an author, activist and community leader and his dad a physicist, who in his varied career headed scientifc research institutions, was a university professor and wrote books on history and politics – for his broad interests and love of learning. His ability to articulate and simplify technical complexities has led Mac to become the process safety expert called upon by local reporters when there’s an environmental crisis.

A member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Mac has served in many volunteer leadership positions of the AIChE Northern California section including Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and director-at-large. He is a member of the Contra Costa Industrial Association, Western States Petroleum Association, and the Refrigeration Engineers and Technicians Association.

Mac lives with his wife in Pleasanton, CA, where he enjoys hiking and being outdoors. He is active as a volunteer leader in the Pleasanton-Dublin community, serving on the board of a community center serving the tri-valley area.
